When visitors enter the gates of Crawford International Bedfordview Pre-Primary, the first impression they have is of a warm, caring, and nurturing environment. Our students happily engage with their teachers and work collaboratively with their friends.
All our teachers are qualified professionals with a passion for early childhood development. Our teachers develop a personalised learning journey for each student and treat each student with dignity and respect. Discipline is maintained through positive reinforcement rather than negative admonishment.
The rich learning environment provides opportunities for students to learn through exploration and play, both indoors and outdoors.
An inquiry-based approach enables our students to express their thoughts and ideas and build on what they know and what they still want to learn.
Our students are encouraged to use creative problem-solving skills, which lay the foundation for independent thinking and lifelong learning. At Crawford International Bedfordview Pre-Primary, we equip students with the skills they need to succeed in a formal learning environment when they move to Grade 1. Our Pre-Primary forms part of the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) for children aged 3 – 12.

Our innovative and student-focused methodology is central to our teaching and learning, where the academic philosophy of THINK, UNDERSTAND and APPLY is the foundation. Future-focused skills are developed throughout each student’s learning journey.
Emphasis is placed on gross and fine motor, perceptual, cognitive, language and numeracy development. Thinking skills are honed, and students are encouraged to explore a variety of options when problem-solving to discover a workable solution. Through thinking routines, we teach our students to question and form opinions, which are expressed through:
A school readiness assessment is done on all our Grade 0 students with the additional optional support of hearing and eye tests conducted during the Grade 00 or Grade 0 school year.
Our holistic approach to education encourages our students to become fully rounded, unique individuals through a personalised learning journey.
Physical – Challenging outdoor experiences to enhance large muscle development, which is vital for future learning.
Social & Emotional – Our dedicated staff create a safe, nurturing environment where each student can develop confidence and social skills.
Intellectual – We follow the ISASA early development curriculum guidelines and extend beyond the national curriculum. Our students explore the three learning areas of Mathematics, Literacy and Life Skills through our concept-driven units of inquiry. Units of learning and the related conversations encourage our students to evolve as inquirers, both within and beyond the classroom.
Creative – We celebrate the arts through dance, drama, art, and music and consider them instrumental in building self-esteem and allowing students to express themselves.
We tap into our students’ unique abilities and talents, relying on their natural sense of curiosity and provoking their thinking through meaningful play opportunities and inquiry-based learning. Our students are encouraged to explore, discover, and experiment.
We motivate our students to try new pursuits by offering a variety of opportunities within and beyond the classroom. By exposing students to a variety of activities, students learn essential life skills such as team play, leadership, and sportsmanship.
The following sports and cultural activities are also included in our school fees:
We also offer several extra-curricular activities on our campus to enrich our offering, subject to demand, and at an extra cost to parents. These activities include:
