Bedfordview Pre-Primary
FUNKY HAIR DAY – PRE-PRIMARY
In a delightful initiative aimed at supporting our invaluable support staff, our Pre-Primary students showcased their creativity through their hair! Parents and children enthusiastically joined forces, displaying a myriad of imaginative hairstyles, from bobbles to feathers and vibrant sprays.
One young student, clearly captivated by the day's festivities, questioned their teacher, 'Why can't we wear our hair like this every day?'
This event, driven by our commitment to bolster our support staff, not only raised essential funds but also underscored the incredible enthusiasm and creativity within our school community. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated, making this day exceptionally meaningful in our collective support for our dedicated staff.
INTERNATIONAL BOOK CHARACTER DAY – PREP
The Grade 1 students celebrated International Roald Dahl Day with great enthusiasm, stepping into the shoes of their favourite Roald Dahl characters. Within the framework of their unit of inquiry, "How We Express Ourselves," they explored the creative expressions of authors through their imaginative writing.
Engaging in delightful tales like 'George's Marvellous Medicine' and 'Fantastic Mr Fox', the students eagerly discussed the stories, predicting the unfolding events with their vibrant imaginations. As part of their creative journey, they even crafted their own "Marvelous Medicines", adding their unique twist to the storytelling experience.
This immersive celebration not only honoured the magic of storytelling but also encouraged the students to express their creativity and expand their understanding of literature. It was a day filled with literary adventures, sparking a deep appreciation for the art of writing among the young learners.
The Grade 9s At Bedfordview College Get a Hands-On Biology Experience
In October, Grade 9 students at Crawford International Bedfordview College delved into the world of biology. They explored the human body through cow organ dissections, moving beyond textbooks to grasp the inner workings of life.
This hands-on experience wasn't just about cutting up organs; it revealed that biology is not just images on a page – it's a living, breathing puzzle. They also learned the importance of handling it all with care and respect, teaching them that science is not just about facts but also about understanding life.
By engaging in this practical activity, students not only deepened their understanding of biology but also honed skills essential for scientific inquiry. At Crawford International Bedfordview, we believe in learning that's not just informative, but also captivating and transformative.
