Grade 0000's learn about "How the World Works”
In an exciting Unit of Exploration, our youngest Crawfordians in Grade 0000 at our Ruimsig campus delved into the fascinating interaction between the natural world and human societies. The focal point of their exploration was understanding how a farm can contribute to making the world work.
One Friday morning in July, the students were taken aback when their teachers, Teacher Jerry and Teacher Cerry, showed up dressed as farmers. The mystery behind their attire was soon revealed when the students stepped out to play and were greeted by a delightful array of farm animals. This wonderful surprise marked the beginning of their hands-on learning experience.
Adding to the charm of the day, a few friendly bunnies hopped over for a visit. The students got the chance to hold and feed these fluffy guests their favourite treat - carrots.
Through this immersive farm experience, Grade 0000 learned valuable lessons about the vital connection between nature and human life. They witnessed firsthand how a farm plays a crucial role in providing resources, fostering companionship with animals, and promoting sustainable living.

Preschoolers Commemorate Nelson Mandela Day with a Touch of Creativity
In a heartwarming tribute to Nelson Mandela, our Grade 00 Crawfordians embarked on a journey of discovery. During this Nelson Mandela Day week, our children eagerly explored the life of the iconic leader, discovering his remarkable contributions to South Africa.
Motivated by Mandela's powerful words, encouraging a better world for all, the students participated in an interactive hand-tracing session. Each child traced their tiny hand onto paper, creating a symbolic reminder of the positive impact they can have on the world.
The activity aimed to instil the profound message that even the smallest actions, done with love and compassion, can create a ripple effect of positive change. It served as a gentle reminder to the children that they possess the power to shape the future through their own hands.
Their colourful hands now stand as a testament to the enduring spirit of hope and unity that Nelson Mandela continues to inspire across generations.
1519 is the total number of cans we collected for The Reach For A Dream Foundation. Well done to all our Crawfordians! You are simply amazing.

Mandela Day at Preparatory
Keeping in the spirit of Nelson Mandela Day and the celebrations we have had all week, our Senior Preparatory made some sandwiches in class today. From Jam and Melrose to Bovril and Syrup, the students had so much fun making sandwiches which we donated to Zandspruit Primary School and a to Kopano Day Care.
