Crawford International Fourways Presents Not One but Two Spectacular Productions
Crawford International Fourways recently held two exciting productions as part of their Arts and Culture programme. The first show, Hooked on Disney, featured students from Grade 1 to 3, marking the beginning of this musical journey. Following this, the Grade 4 to 7 production, titled, Dancing Through The Decades, took the stage. These performances delighted the school community, offering three fantastic evenings filled with impressive acts.
Both productions were highly anticipated, as they were the first in over four years. “We could not wait to showcase the exceptional talent and creativity of students and have fun with our students on stage,” explained Mercia Silcock, the Director of both performances. Due to lockdown protocols, the school was not able to showcase drama and music on stage in our annual productions. Mercia explained that “directing two shows was a huge undertaking, but we had to give every student an opportunity to shine.”
Hooked on Disney captivated the audience with its enchanting renditions of famous Disney songs from the movies Aladdin, Moana and Encanto to name a few. The Grade 4-7 production took the audience through musical history from Elvis, Grease and ABBA to Backstreet Boys, Destiny’s Child and Miley Cyrus.

The two productions included hits from a wide range of musical genres, dazzling choreography, and a showcase of talent that was truly magical.
A special mention goes out to everyone whose dedication to the entire production, the countless hours spent rehearsing; and perfecting their performances to bring the productions to life. “These ambitious productions showcase the hard work, dedication, and passion of our students,” said Ian Rothman, Principal at Crawford International Fourways, who also treated the Crawford International Fourways family with his delivery of I Did It My Way by Frank Sinatra. “They have overcome challenges, pushed their boundaries, and poured their hearts and souls into these musical masterpieces” expressed Ian. From the beautifully crafted set designs, lighting, sound, and stunning costume coordination, we could not have pulled it off without a wonderful behind-the-scenes team.
The annual productions give our school a platform to nurture and showcase the artistic talents of our diverse student body. “We are incredibly proud of our vibrant and dynamic students and staff”, said Ian.
