International Zebra Day
Observed annually on 31 January International Zebra Day highlights the urgent need to protect these iconic animals as their natural habitats shrink due to human expansion. When environments are threatened wildlife faces increasing danger making conservation efforts more critical than ever.
Zebras are native to the African continent roaming the semi-desert regions of Kenya and Ethiopia as well as the hilly landscapes of Namibia Angola and South Africa. Their distinctive black and white stripes make them instantly recognisable, but their survival depends on global awareness and action.
This day is a call to learn share and support initiatives that safeguard zebras for future generations
Grade 0000 Sprinkler Day
Sprinkler Day at school was an absolute hit! The children were all smiling as they ran through the refreshing sprays of water, giggling and squealing with delight. From jumping over sprinklers to splashing in puddles, they embraced every moment of the cool, carefree fun. It was a wonderful way to stay active, enjoy the sunshine, and make joyful memories with friends. The day was filled with laughter, excitement, and plenty of water play, an experience the kids look forward to again.
Preparatory
Beyond the Classrooms
Our amazing students and dedicated teachers at the Preparatory have been busy making the most of their extra-mural activities! From sports to arts and everything in between, they have been exploring new interests, building teamwork, and developing essential life skills.
We are proud of each and every one of you.
Keep shining, everyone!
Eco-Education and Green Thumbs
Grade 4 Eco Education students, with Winter's help and expert guidance, planted a succulent garden as part of their learning about water-wise plants. Over time, they will observe and document the growth of these hardy plants, gaining hands-on experience in sustainability and the importance of conserving water. The Grade 1 Green Thumbs are tasked to look after the plants. This project encourages responsibility and environmental awareness in our young learners.
Munchkins; friendships that grow
Munchkins offers a special opportunity for our Grade 1 and Grade 7 students to connect and learn more about each other. Through shared stories and conversations, they formed meaningful bonds as the Grade 1 munchkin and the Grade 7 counsellor discovered common ground.
It was heartwarming to see younger and older students supporting and learning from one another; a reminder of the power of connection across ages. We look forward to watching these friendships flourish in the months ahead.

Not Just Another Brick: The Power of Ecobricks
Finding innovative solutions to pressing problems is a hallmark of progress, and at the Interact Board, we are excited to champion initiatives that not only address environmental concerns but also yield positive social outcomes. One such initiative is our Eco-brick-making event, held every second Thursday by the Environmental Committee.
Ecobricks are a remarkable innovation in recycling, allowing us to transform plastic waste into durable, usable “bricks.” By filling plastic bottles with non-biodegradable waste, we create strong building materials that can replace conventional bricks, diverting plastic from landfills in the process.
These eco-bricks are then donated to various organisations that focus on housing and gardening infrastructure projects. We take immense pride in contributing to these efforts that not only benefit the environment but also aid communities in need.
Our Eco-brick-making sessions are not just about recycling; they are also about community and engagement. Students gather after school to participate in a fun and rewarding activity that fosters teamwork while making a tangible difference. It’s a fantastic way to unwind and contribute positively to our world.
We are committed to continuing this meaningful enterprise and look forward to seeing more students join us at our next event. Together, we can help build a sustainable future, one eco-brick at a time!
