Pop Art with Grade 000s
Pop Art is a style of art based on simple, bold images of everyday items that are painted in bright colours. We explored the idea of Pop Art with our Grade 000 children and asked them to imagine living in a world with no colours - only black and white. We took photographs of the children in black and white, asking them to portray a silly face. The children then had to choose various colours to add to their photograph, making them bright and colourful.
So much funny and interesting comments were made by the students, communicating what they liked about their faces, what they felt when they saw it, and what the colours they chose represented.
Learning Different Cultures
As we drew closer to the end of our term, the students have been working hard on their summative assessments about different cultures, learning about the many wonderful traditions around the world. It has been a fun and exciting journey! As we wrap up, we are looking forward to celebrating Holi and Purim, two special festivals that bring joy and colour to our lives. We will also celebrate Grandparents' and Special Person's Day, a time to honour the important people in our lives.
Preparatory
Inter-Crawford Summer Festival
Crawford International Sandton Preparatory was host to 6 other Crawford schools for the annual Inter-Crawford Summer Festival. The two days were packed with many races, many games and plenty of energy. Each swimmer and player had the opportunity to push themselves a little further, give it their best and make connections with others from the broader Crawford community. To have over 250 students take part and belong to something so special makes us special - well done, Crawford!
Thank you to the Sandton Team, organised and led by Ms Ringrose, for all they did to ensure that the weekend was a great success.
Gauteng Provincial Karate tournament
Cassidy brought home silver for her division in Kata and Kumite at the SA JKA Gauteng Champs and made top 8 in the Junior Elite Ladies Brown/Black Kata and Kumite.
Ishta participated in the Gauteng Provincial Karate tournament on Friday, 14 March and was awarded two bronze medals.
We are so proud of their dedication to the sport.
PYP Coffee Morning Recap
Our recent PYP Coffee Morning was a fantastic opportunity for parents to engage in meaningful conversations about the jobs of the future and how the IB and PYP framework prepare students for success.
Parents explored the Approaches to Learning (ATLs), the essential skills that help students become adaptable, critical thinkers, and lifelong learners. From communication and research to self-management and thinking skills, the discussion highlighted how these competencies will shape our children's futures in an ever-evolving world.
Thank you to all the parents who joined us, asked insightful questions, and contributed to such a dynamic and enriching conversation!

CI Initiative
Spur for Fidelitas
On 18 March, the Grade 11 students of the Fidelitas Matric Dance Committee had the exciting opportunity to complete a shadow shift at the San Antonio Spur in Sandton. From 16:00 to 21:00, we eagerly waited tables, serving our teachers, friends, and families in a lively restaurant atmosphere.
The experience was not only enjoyable but also immensely rewarding. It was a fantastic chance for us to engage with our community while gaining valuable insights into the inner workings of a restaurant. We learned about teamwork, communication, and the importance of customer service, all essential skills that will benefit us in the future.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to San Antonio Spur, especially to Penny, James, and the entire staff, for their warm hospitality and patience as we navigated our roles. Your guidance made this experience both educational and fun.
Finally, a big thank you to everyone who came out to support us. Your presence made our shadow shift a memorable event!
