Grade 0 Visit Monte Casino Bird Garden
Crawford International Lonehill Pre-Primary Grade 0 students had a thrilling outing to the Bird Gardens at Monte Casino. The bus trip added to the excitement, as usual. They met a real-life Igor, the Jungle class mascot, and encountered various creepy, crawly, and flying creatures. Fun times had by all.
Crawford International Lonehill Preparatory Student Shines at WUKF World Championships
Our Grade 6 student, Christos Prokas, showcased his exceptional skills at the WUKF (The World Universal Karate Federation) All Styles World Championships in Scotland. Competing against 31 countries and nearly 2000 participants, Christos earned a remarkable 4th place in his Kata division. Missing out on 3rd place by just 0.1 and Gold by a mere 1.4 points, he represented his country with immense pride. We celebrate Christos's outstanding achievement on the global stage.
Crawford International Kenya Visits SA
The Lonehill College had a special visit from Crawford International Kenya, with 3 staff members and 19 students participating in the Pan African Final Debating Competition hosted by the African Leadership Academy. Despite our quiet exam time, our Kenyan sister school representatives interacted with some of our students and staff, creating cherished moments. Discovering commonalities and the uniqueness of our Crawford students, we eagerly await the next visit from Crawford International Kenya Lonehill,
Mandela Month at Lonehill and a 100 Days of Learning
Not only did we celebrate Mandela Day, but we also celebrated 100 days of school. At Crawford International Lonehill, Mandela Day is all about giving back to the community and our students did just that.
From cutting, dicing, and peeling potatoes and carrots to making soup as well as buttering and making 100 sandwiches and packing special gift bags. Our students made this Mandela Day one to remember.
Furthermore, every Tuesdays and Fridays we run the sandwich drive which we deliver to the Christway Children’s Home. Every week we have an outpouring of love and care for those less fortunate than ourselves, and we are extremely thankful to all those who continuously support this initiative.
5KM Fun Run
Crawford International Lonehill partnered with the Lonehill Residents Association and Otter Estate for the 5km Fun-Run around Lonehill on Saturday 22nd July. It was a beautiful winter’s day with over 900 participants taking to the streets with runners, walkers, prams, dogs, and lots of socialising.
The College students were at the finish line cheering the participants on and handing over the goody bags, while our Preparatory and Pre-Primary staff and students painted many little and no so little faces. The colouring in competition was a huge hit with the children between 2-10 years of age decorating our Crawford Robbie Rhino, and his mom and dad. We are very proud to be part of such an amazing community.
